I love the idea of Mardi Gras and would totally enjoy going, even though we'd suffocate from the amount of people in the streets. I was fortunate enough to go to New Orleans a couple of times before Hurricane Katrina hit, and it was a beautiful place... but very very dirty, even in the off season!
I've always wanted to go to Mardi Gras too! I wonder how it will be this year, all things considered.
